From the Ground Up

The story begins in the early 1920s, George Feucht and his brother-in-law, Louis Wittman started hauling cattle in Leroy, WI. About five years later, George's son Frank Feucht has decided to run the company by himself. Frank started with 1 truck that he drove himself. He hauled livestock, milk, and seasonally vegetables from the canning factory in Mayville, WI.  Frank Breit joined Frank Feucht in the mid-1920s. Then in 1940, another driver was hired, Edward Pieper. Edward drove from 1939 to 1946.

In 1949, Frank's son, Don Feucht wanted to learn the family trade when he was 16 years old. Shortly after Don started Frank's eldest son, Ray joined the family business as well. In 1953 Don purchased his first cattle hauling truck. In the early 1950s, Frank Feucht Trucking was traveling to six states to deliver pigs. By the late 1950s, he expanded to four more states. Don knew that building relationships with people would be the livelihood of his business. He secured one customer in Iowa, whom he hauled pigs for, for 22 years.

In 1963, Don bought the trucking company from his father. Then five years later at the age of 67, Frank passed away. Leaving behind the beginning of generations to come in the trucking industry. That same year Don started hauling calves. After Don has bought the family business, he named it Don Feucht Trucking. The name may have changed, but not the livestock he hauled. He was hauling calves and feeder pigs to 47 states by 1973.

In 1988 Don's son Dennis started his own trucking company "Dennis Feucht Trucking." Both Don and Dennis Feucht trucking companies still find themselves successful today.

All of the Feucht Trucking companies that were established have been a traditional family business. All members of the family had a vital role in making the company successful. Don's three sons Steve, Gary, and Dennis were all CDL drivers for him. Gary, also very knowledgeable in diagnosing and fixing large diesel vehicles, which was beneficial for keeping their trucks in the best shape. Don's daughter, Lorna did all the bookkeeping and managed the money for a while. Most importantly Don's wife Lorraine was the company's dispatcher since day one. Without a supportive family, the Don Feucht Trucking company would not be as successful as it is today.

Our Story Begins

Scott Feucht, the great-grandson of Frank Feucht, decided he wanted to follow in his grandfather's footsteps and join the trucking industry. He began by driving farm trucks in the fields when he was 15 years old. When he turned 18, he received his Commercial Driver's License and held many over-the-road driving positions. He gained experience and learned about the industry. The financial crisis of 2008 hit and Scott decided he wanted his name featured on his trucks. In 2009, he started Feucht Trucking. He did not want to haul livestock like his family, so he started hauling commodity goods.

With Scott's last name on his truck and much determination, he took every load that came his way. After the first year, the number of trucks Scott had doubled, so he began hiring drivers. Now Feucht Trucking of Mayville has a growing inventory with 30 late model tractors, 100 dry vans, and 15 refrigerated units. Feucht Trucking Inc. continues to expand and prosper. We understand the drivers are the bread and butter of this industry. Without good drivers, no transportation company would exist. We have a rich history that hard work pays off and Scott says, "where we started is nothing compared to where we going."
